Keepin’ Yourself Strong
There’s heaps of ways to look after your mind and spirit. Staying close to your culture, your Country, your mob and your mates can help you feel good inside and out. Keeping busy with things you love keeps your spirit strong too.
Have a Yarn
If you’re feeling a bit crook in the head or heart — lonely, worried, sad or just not right — don’t sit with it by yourself. Have a yarn with someone you trust. Could be your aunty, your uncle, a cousin, a good mate or an Elder.
Talking it out can take a weight off your shoulders and help you feel stronger. Mob lookin’ out for mob — that’s how we heal.
Stayin’ Connected
Getting out on Country, doing the things you love, and staying connected to your roots can lift your spirit. Go for a fish, head bush, camp out under the stars — whatever fills up your cup.
Getting back into culture — learning language, telling yarns, doing art, dancing, singin’ up — all of it can help you feel proud and deadly. It’s all good for your spirit and your mind.
And don’t forget, hangin’ with your mob, your family, your community — that’s medicine too.
