DESIGN DESCRIPTION

This vibrant shirt design captures the heart of the 2025 NAIDOC Week theme with powerful visual storytelling. At the centre, a rising sun over a split landscape symbolizes hope, growth, and a new dawn for future generations. The two brown hills represent Country – the land that holds deep cultural and spiritual meaning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Winding between the hills is a black path, a representation of the journey of the next generation – walking in the footsteps of Elders, guided by their strength, vision, and legacy. Along this  Path are colourful children’s handprints in red, yellow, green, blue, and orange – a joyful and hopeful nod to young voices rising, learning, and shaping the future.
The upper arc of radiating dots around the sun reflects connection, community, and  storytelling, foundational elements of Indigenous culture that continue to shine through generations. Together, this artwork celebrates children as the carriers of culture and the promise of tomorrow, while honouring the leadership, strength, and resilience of those who walked before them.
